Companionship and Homemaking

Companionship and homemaking care provide the little bit of extra help some seniors appreciate to make life just a bit easier.

Companionship benefits include the following for your loved one.

The primary purpose of companions is to spend time with a senior.  The children of seniors may want companionship care to help them make sure someone is there with their parents.  Companionship care often includes things like

  • Mental stimulation
  • Increased self confidence
  • Better mental and physical health
  • Socialization
  • Increased mobility and independence

Homemaking

What are the benefits of homemaking?

Many seniors who appreciate companionship care also benefit from homemaking. Homemaking includes things like:

  • Light housekeeping
  • Cooking
  • Laundry
  • Taking out the garbage
  • Organization

Cheaper Alternative compared to Full Home Health Care

Companionship care and homemaking do not include personal, hands-on care. For example, companionship care does not provide bathing or administering medication, which require additional certifications.  Rather, companions can prepare baths and remind patients to take their medications.
